Fun on a Snow Day

Street outside my house

Been dumping snow here in Seattle still… As much as I wanted to do my Rope Day(conditioning) outside it wasn’t going to happen. I decided to have some fun, did a bunch of stretching, Z-Health, and mobility to warm up.

Worked on some primal or animal movements which ever you would like to call them for about 10 mins. This is really great stuff, I always test better after and have a great time trying to put together combos on the fly. Check out Global BodyWeight Training. Mike is the man and these movements you can take anywhere. Hotels, the Park, the Beach etc.

Played around with my Stroops Anaconda which I got last christmas from my lovely girlfriend. Think battling ropes that stretch..the farther you go the harder it pulls you forward. Very fun, and a real challange. Played around for 5 mins then did a Tabata of :20/:10 x 8sets…was brutal. All Double Waves

Last, I spent about 10 mins swinging my NEW Christmas present from my girl. Stronger Grips Thick Handle Club. This thing is beautifully crafted and just feels awesome in the hands. I had some steel shots left over so I loaded this up to 12lbs. There is a 3″ ball on the end for some great dynamic gripping action. Really hits the hands, wrist, forearms and shoulders. Still practicing the movements but have plenty of ideas and combo’s to play with. I like to use this as a warm down after some gripper work.

All and all I had a great time training today, feeling good and gearing up for a monster training session tomorrow.

Being stuck and home in the snow is not to bad when you have food and a gym.

How is your training going?

More to come..
